Friday morning qualifiers will feature a number of talented performers, including one of the sport’s toughest older pacers and a trotting colt considered by many to be a serious Hambletonian threat

.

The trotting colt is Holiday Road, and he’ll be shooting for his first charted line of the season for trainer Greg Peck. The strapping son of Yankee Glide, who went three-for-six as a rookie and banked in excess of $312,000, hit some bumps in the road late last season after capturing the $523,600 final of the Peter Haughton Memorial during last year’s Hambletonian program.

Brian Sears is scheduled to sit behind the youngster, who will start from post two in tomorrow morning’s second qualifier.

Fresh off a gritty victory in the $200,000 final of the Graduate Series at the Meadowlands on May 15, Shark Gesture will take on six foes in tomorrow morning’s ninth qualifier for trainer Larry Remmen.

The seven-year-old son of Cams Card Shark, who is a 22-time winner and a career winner in excess of $2 million, will start from post seven in that tilt with George Brenan at the lines.
