Meadows Feature To Run And Tell Pap

Tucked neatly into the pocket, Run And Tell Pap charged through the Lightning Lane to score at a handsome 6-1 in Monday’s $18,000 Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.

Big And Little was on the lead, seeking his third straight, when he tired in the lane and was attacked inside by Run And Tell Pap and outside by TSM Photo Bugger. Under Dave Palone’s urging, Run And Tell Pap edged TSM Photo Bugger by a nose in 1:53.3, with longshot Bettis rallying for show.

Ron Burke trains Run And Tell Pap, a six-year-old High Falls-Adeles Jade gelding who extended his career bankroll to $358,621, for Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC and M1 Stable. Palone drove five winners on the 15-race card while Burke enjoyed a four-bagger.

On Wednesday, June 26, The Meadows will kick off a three-day celebration culminating with the track’s 50th anniversary on Friday, June 28. The festivities — which begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday — include a cookout in the Miller Tent, music from the 1960s and videos of Meadows “magic moments” on the infield matrix board. In addition, fans will participate in “1963 Trivia,” with hats, tee shirts, concert tickets and 1963 track photos as prizes, and each fan will receive a special Golden Anniversary Commemorative Journal produced by the Keystone Chapter of the United States Harness Writers Association.

First post Wednesday and Thursday is 6:55 p.m. while Friday’s card begins at 8:20 p.m. — the post time of the Opening Night card.
