It has been reported that the Rex Hotel, a historic and popular restaurant in Welland, Ont., will once again be simulcasting horse racing.

An article by the Welland Tribune explains that Bruno Carusetta, the owner of the Rex Hotel, was forced to stop simulcasting horse racing in 2011. According to the report, Carusetta has reached a deal with the Woodbine Entertainment Group that will see simulcasting return to the restaurant.

The article states that there will be not be pari-mutuel tellers on site, but there will be touch-screen, self-serve terminals.

“They’re very up to date and easy to use,” he said, adding that staff has been trained to assist with any issues anyone may have.

The report also explains that the restaurant has also added two walls of flat-screen TVs to broadcast the races.
