Favourite Bet Ya edged out her rivals in a four-across finish to win the $10,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 2 Handicap Pace featured at Georgian Downs on Sunday night (June 11) for trainer/driver Jack Moiseyev.

Dawn Shooter (J Harris) established the lead from post two through a :28.1 opening quarter and proceeded to the half in :58.2 while outside assignee Heels On The Beach (Alfie Carroll) advanced first-up from fourth with WEG Circuit regular Bet Ya tracking the cover. Heels On The Beach went head-to-head with Dawn Shooter and the duo battled back and forth past three-quarters in 1:26.2 and into the stretch while Bet Ya fanned three-wide and Gia Diamond (Travis Henry) closed even wider from the backfield to make it an exciting four-way finish. In the end, Bet Ya prevailed by half a length in 1:55 flat to earn her second and fastest win of the season for owners Joanne Colville of Moffat, Ont., and Nancy MacNevin of Essex, Ont.

Bred by MacNevin, the six-year-old Jeremes Jet-Star Princess mare has won 21 races lifetime while banking over $350,000 in purses.

Bet Ya paid $3.80 to win as the 4-5 favourite. Dawn Shooter edged out Heels On The Beach and Gia Diamond for the runner-up role.
