Wind Surfer used a mid-race breather to fashion a handy victory in the $27,500 Preferred Trot Wednesday at The Meadows

.

Although Wind Surfer endured a demanding first quarter over the sloppy track to secure the lead, Eric Ledford was able to back down the second panel to :30.2. With that, Wind Surfer easily repelled the uncovered bid of Near The Limit (J D Wengerd) and the late thrust of Toms Ok Lady (Dave Palone).

Wind Surfer prevailed in 1:56, one and a half lengths better than Toms Ok Lady, who saw her winning streak end at three. Near The Limit saved show. Kent Sherman trains Wind Surfer, a four-year-old gelded son of Muscles Yankee-Windsurfing VC, for James Koran and Betty Sherman.

Dave Palone drove four winners on the 16-race card.
