Twenty-two starters went to the post Friday in three divisions in the 50th edition of $105,925 Lady Suffolk Trot which is the distaff version of the Dexter Cup

.

The first chapter provided an upset when 18-1 Regina Hall got up in the final stride to nip out 4-5 Allamerican Phoebe. The daughter of Banker Hall with Cat Manzi at the helm retuned $38.00 to win and kicked off a $104.40 exacta while stopping the clock in 2:00.

In division two, marred by unfortunate happenstance, Gabbys Dream guided by Andy Miller was a neck victor over Hall Of Wishes and Brian Sears.

The winner making her 2009 debut tripped the teletimer in 1:59:3 and sparked an exacta worth $11.80.

Flirtin Lady who lead until the top of the homestretch, went off stride, fell down causing O Dana O with Steve Smith and Sleek Pleasure with Dave Miller to fall as well, in a chain reaction.

There were no serious injuries as all the fillies walked away under their own power.
Miller and Smith walked away as well but Manzi was taken to the hospital for scraping to his elbow but is expected to return to action very soon.

In the final stanza, Rapsong with trainer/driver George Dennis at the controls made good on a 3-5 promise winning by a diminishing ¾ of length over a fast closing Lynns Slider with Andy Miller substituting for Manzi.

Rapsong was the highest earner in the field of seven returned her faithful $3.20 to win and started an exacta good for $33.40. The mile went in 2:00.
