A First For Marcus Miller

Driver Marcus Miller dominated Saturday night’s harness racing card at Balmoral Park scoring six wins on the 13-race card. The feat was a first for the 22-year-old

reinsman.

Among Miller’s victories were a pair of Cardinal Stakes elimination wins for his father, trainer Ervin Miller, including A Cool Card ($2.80) and North America Cup eligible Dutch Richman ($2.40). Dutch Richman, a 1:52.3 winner over the sloppy track, has been assessed at odds of 40-1 in Trot Magazine's 2011 Spring Book.

Miller also won with Mysoontobe ($3.80) for his father, Celtic Manor ($10) for Nelson Willis, Money Runner ($3.80) and Western Sign ($4.40) for Robert Philips.

Prior to Saturday night, the most wins Miller had won on a pari-mutuel card was five. He accomplished that feat twice at Balmoral Park and twice at Maywood Park.

Saturday’s other Cardinal Stakes elimination went to the Kristopher Reynolds-trained Rockin Rumble and Michael Oosting. The $54,400 final for three-year-old Illinois conceived and foaled three-year-old pacing colts and geldings will take place next Saturday night, June 6.
