Gassien Gets Five At Kawartha

Driver Reginald Gassien grabbed five victories on the nine-race program at Kawartha Downs Saturday, May 26.

Gassien began the night winning the opener behind Gregg McNair trainee Letjimmytakeover, going wire to wire in the $4,800 conditioned pace in 1:57.1. He returned $4.50 to win.

A few races later, Gassien collected a natural grand slam, winning races five through eight. He piloted Gramps ($5.20) to a 1:57.3 victory by a neck in a $4,500 conditioned pace, Sky Lav ($5.00) from off the pace to win a $3,800 conditioned trot in 1:58.3, Bet Till Dawn ($3.50) to a wire-to-wire performance in a $3,500 claiming pace in 1:59.4 and Adamncam ($3.10) also to a wire-to-wire win in a $3,600 claiming pace in 1:56.4.
