Winning never gets old. At the age of 12 years old, pacer Bolero Charles has managed to keep the good times rolling and on Sunday night he earned his fifth win of the season in the $7,000 Preferred 3 at Flamboro Downs.

With James MacDonald in the sulky, second choice Bolero Charles ($7.20) sat third for most of the mile while Major Najor and favourite Future Million battled on top. The veteran pacer then slipped by up the passing lane and held off the wide rallying Amazon Art for the half-length victory in 1:55.4. Major Najor held on for third one length behind over Better Get Ready, who was stacked four-high coming into the stretch.

Bolero Charles is owned by 9174 7998 Quebec Inc. and Kathleen Charlton while Stephen Charlton handles the training duties.

He has won 43 times in his career while banking over $600,000.
