After a near miss in the $11,000 Preferred 2 class one week ago at The Raceway at Western Fair District, Saulsbrook Peach dropped into Monday’s $8,300 Preferred 3 class and blew away the competition.

Saulsbrook Peach got away fifth for driver Robert Shepherd before making a first-over bid on the way to the half. Jackstan carved out early fractions of :27.2 and :58, but Saulsbrook Peach grabbed a narrow lead while racing parked past the three-quarter pole in 1:27. He then used a :29-second kicker to win by 5-1/4 lengths over Stonebridge Scout in 1:56. Mister X rounded out the Triactor ticket.

Isabelle Darveau trains the seven-year-old son of Royal Mattjesty-Atlanta Girl for owner Catheline Pelletier of Mirabel, QC. It was the fourth win of the campaign for the 13-time winner who lifted his lifetime earnings to $69,154 with the victory.
