A number of prominent Ontario-based horsemen discuss the conditions they would like to implement for a new stakes race or series in this week's Standardbred Canada video feature.
If you were to create a new stakes race or series, what would the conditions be?

If i could be so bold i would like to offer up a suggestion. I would start a series for claimers or conditioned horses and call it the 'Fair Take-Out' claiming or conditioned series and charge a fair takeout for the betting public on these races, say about 10% right across the board in every pool. This series would be raced in all 12 races on every card, year round to help this industry re-build their gambling base instead of constantly looking for handouts :)
