Launching for the top from post seven, Party In Rome wired her competition in the $8,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred 3 Pace at Flamboro Downs on Saturday, May 12, winning at odds of 13-1.

The five-year-old Big Jim mare held control through a :28.4 opening quarter. Skyfall Sena, floating for position from post 8, parked past the quarter and marched toward tempo-setter Party In Rome approaching the half, timed in :57. The two matched strides briefly before Skyfall Sena lost ground circling the clubhouse turn, leaving Party In Rome with a one-and-three-quarter lengths lead into the backstretch.

Expanding her lead to two-and-one-half lengths past three-quarters in 1:25.1, Party In Rome strolled around the final turn chased by Skyfall Sena and Casimir Pardon Me, tracking her cover. Party In Rome won by two-and-one-half lengths at the line, while Casimir Pardon Me edged Skyfall Sena for second.

Owned by Bill Manes, William Cripps and Steven Papillon, Party In Rome, returning $29.30 to win, won her fifth race in 15 starts this season and her 14th in 64 overall, earning $242,161. Scott Young sat behind the Gerald Lilley trainee.
