Rene Allard trainee Maxdaddy Blue Chip, finishing second in last week's Open, came charging late in the mile and paced past his rivals to win the $14,500 Open Pace in 1:51.2 on Saturday, May 12 at Saratoga Harness.
Panocchio and Rival Deetzy set swift fractions on the front, pacing the first lap in :53.4. Sitting off the duel, Maxdaddy Blue Chip, driven by Billy Dobson, catapulted off the speed to win his first start of the season. Jk Panache also rallied from off the pace to take second with Sassy Hanover third.
Allard trainees have won the local Open Trot in back to back weeks and will look to extend that streak to three on Sunday, May 13 when Consolidator goes in the matinee’s feature. First post time is set for 12:15 p.m.
