The first Thursday night feature of the 2016 meet at Red Shores Charlottetown was an all class victory for Idealic Life.

The winner of over $525,000 used a class-dropping, first-over effort to track down newcomer OK Galahad, who laid down fractions of :28.4, :58.4 and 1:28.1.

Idealic Life is owned by Perry, Robin and Luke Burke along with Kent Livingston. Trevor Hicken is the trainer while Red Shores Charlottetown's top reinsman Corey MacPherson handled the driving duties.

Charlottetown native Kenny Arsenault enjoyed another banner night at his home town oval. He celebrated three driving victories, with two of them from his own stable. Frill Seeker won the Open trot in 2:01.2 for Arsenault, who also picked up wins aboard Waterside Light and Elm Grove Kaboom for trainer Earl Smith. Both horses are owned by Larry and Kathy Chappell.

Driver Mark Bradley and Trainer Tom Weatherbie teamed up to win the Daily Double with Pownal Bay Style and Glory Jean. Marc Campbell also enjoyed a driving double on the card aboard Windemere Stanley and J J Jodster.

Racing returns to the capital oval on Saturday evening for a 13-dash card beginning at 6:00 p.m.
