Mister X Wires Preferred Foes

After a heartbreaking beat in last week’s Preferred 3 at The Raceway at Western Fair District, Mister X returned to the same class and held on for a narrow triumph for the tandem of driver Robert Shepherd and trainer Kenny Oliver.

Mister X left hard from Post 2 in Monday’s edition of the class and never looked back. He ripped through fractions of :28.1, :57.4 and 1:27.2 before fending off late pressure and winning the added distance affair in 2:04. It was three-quarters of a length back to runner-up, Avatartist. Third prize went to UF Bettors Hanover.

The seven-year-old son of Mister Big-Maddam Luck now owns a 3-4-0 record from 12 trips to the track for partners Shirley House, Kerry House and Kimberly Inglis. The 33-time winner has banked more than $180,000 to date.
