With two cards of harness racing remaining at Fraser Downs to determine B.C.’s drivers for the Western Regional Driving Championship, only two wins separate three drivers for the third and final spot.

Bill Davis tops the charts in dash wins with 120 to his credit so far while Jim Marino is next in line with 105 wins. With these stats and only two cards of racing remaining, they have both secured a spot in the WRDC. Next in line and competing for the final spot are John Chappell with 48 wins, Scott Knight with 47 wins and Dave Hudon with 46 wins.

Both Knight and Hudon have competed in the National Driving Championship before - Knight in the inaugural edition in 2007, and Hudon in 2011. The cards of racing on Friday, April 11 and Sunday, April 13 will add to someone’s win totals and determine the third B.C. representative.

On Friday’s card of racing, Chappell has eight drives, Knight has six drives and Hudon has five drives.

Alberta’s representatives are Brandon Campbell, Travis Cullen and Gerry Hudon. Richard Remillard will represent Saskatchewan and Don Howlett will represent Manitoba.

The 2014 Western Regional Driving Championship scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at Fraser Downs is the first of four Regional Driving Championships which will determine the eight participants in Canada’s National Driving Championship, scheduled at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. The top two drivers who accumulate the most points in the Western Regional Driving Championship will advance to the NDC.

The winner of the NDC will represent Canada in the World Driving Championship in Australia in February/March, 2015.
