According to a report, construction on Century Downs Racetrack and Casino in Balzac, Alta. will get underway this month.
An article by Rocky View Weekly states that heavy machinery, including bulldozers arrived on the site in mid-March.
“We’ve been pursuing this very actively for the last two years with our partners, United Horsemen of Alberta,” Andreas Terler, vice president of operations for Century Casinos, Inc., was quoted as saying in the article.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for the area. The area is underserved when it comes to casinos and underserved for racetracks.”
Expected completion of Century Downs Racetrack and Casino is December 2014.
