Kennel Buddy took a two-race winning streak into Thursday’s $11,000 Preferred 2 for trotters at Flamboro Downs, and his rallying skills helped him extended the streak to three straight for trainer David Dowling.

J Harris, who celebrated a three-win performance on the 10-race card, mapped out a two-hole trip for Kennel Buddy and the gelding didn’t let it go to waste. Dragin The Wagon threw down fractions of :28.1, :59.2 and 1:28.4, but he couldn’t fend off a pair of late challengers. Kennel Buddy fired home in :30.3 over the ‘sloppy’ oval and that was good enough to earn him the half-length score over Azucar in 1:59.3. Dragin The Wagon was third.

Allan Neal of Grand Bend, Ont. owns the seven-year-old son of Ken Warkentin-Bernice Daniece who improved this year’s record to 4-3-1 from 10 trips to the track this season. The 30-time winner pushed his lifetime earnings over $250,000 with the victory.

Harris also captured the $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters with Excellence, but this time he opted for front-end tactics.

He hustled the 10-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Noble Message to the position of command and together the led the group through fractions of :29, :59.2 and 1:29 before kicking home in :30.4 to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Eternal Quest in 1:59.4. All Out Henry took home the show dough.

Susan Downey of St. George Brant, Ont. holds the papers on the veteran who now boasts a 3-1-1 record from nine trips to the track this season. The 37-time winner pushed her lifetime earnings over $280,000 with the score.
