Since it was announced in early February, the ‘Stable of Horses That God Loves’ has attracted some of horse racing’s top owners, trainers and performers. Now you can add Canada’s reigning driver of the year, Chris Christoforou, to the list.

Trot Insider has learned that Christoforou, who is fresh off his fourth O’Brien Award winning season, will be donating a percentage of his purse earnings to the ‘stable.’

The Stable of Horses That God Loves is a program designed as a fundraiser for the Standardbred Racetrack Chaplaincy of Canada. Participants are asked to donate a small amount of their purse earnings to the endeavour, which is also being leveraged as a positive news story for the industry on a continual basis throughout the entire 2015 racing season.

Christoforou has informed Trot Insider that he will be donating one per cent of his earnings from his 2015 Ontario Sires Stakes drives to the initiative this year.

It was announced in February that star trotting distaffer Shake It Cerry will be racing for “God’s Stable” in 2015. It was then announced in March that Luck Be Withyou would also be jumping aboard.

The stable got some mainstream press later in March. That news was followed by the announcement that three-year-old thoroughbred Madefromlucky will also be racing for the stable this year.

Most recently it was announced that Vegas Vacation, who will be making his return to the races this year, has also joined the stable.

These people that donate a small percent of their earnings to a wonderful cause deserve to be congratulated and thanked, and as the old saying goes, (WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND). Have a good day.
