The Dangler's captured the 2014 Horsemen's Hockey Tournament on Wednesday at the Cambridge Ice Park.

For the first time in its long history, the tournament underwent a change in format. Players signed up individually before five captains drafted to decide which team they were assigned to.

The tournament remained highly competitive throughout the day, before The MacDonald Mooseheads and The Dangler's separated themselves from their rivals as they squared off in the championship game.

After losing 4-2 in the preliminary round to the Mooseheads, the Dangler's got revenge in the final as they captured the tournament championship 5-2.

The Dangler's came out strong and were rewarded with a 3-0 lead. The commanding lead would not last long as the Moosehead's notched two quick goals to make the score 3-2 heading into the latter part of the game.

The Dangler's quickly responded with another goal to lead 4-2, before adding an empty net goal to seal the deal.

"It was a terrific day for everyone involved," said the Dangler's captain, coach and general manager, Greg Gangle.

The Dangler's winning roster was comprised of Brad Byron (goalie), Greg Gangle, Brad Marshall, Rob Doyle, Bernie Klacer, Darryl Langstone, Rob Sparling Jr., Mitch Hunter, Gavin Christie, Jim Stewart, Brett Farrely and Jake Roberts (Asst. Coach).
