Elmore Named Hoosier Park GM

Hoosier Park today announced the appointment of Brian Elmore to the position of General Manager of Racing. Elmore will assume the new position beginning May 1, 2011

. Elmore will be replacing Jeff Smith, who will continue in his position as Managing Director of Racing for Hoosier Park’s parent company, Centaur LLC.

In his previous position as Director of Racing Operations, Elmore was instrumental in positioning Hoosier Park as a premier horse racing destination and Indiana’s first fully integrated gaming and racing facility. Elmore brings with him more than 30 years of horse racing experience, of which fifteen were with Hoosier Park.

Hoosier Park has a very talented staff of dedicated team members who excel in customer service and a loyal customer base that enjoy our facility,” said Elmore “Our staff is not only dedicated to the needs of our guests but also those horsemen who come and participate in races conducted at Hoosier Park. I look forward to continuing our past successful traditions, exceeding guest expectations, and maintaining a commitment to seek improvements.”

Prior to joining Hoosier Park and Centaur, Elmore served as General Manager of Ellis Park in Henderson, Kentucky and Bandera Downs in Bandera, Texas. Elmore has also served as a member of the Thoroughbred Racing Association and held multiple community board memberships throughout his career.

Centaur Chairman and CEO Rod Ratcliff stated, “Brian’s knowledge and experience in the horse racing industry and with Hoosier Park should serve him well in his new position. We look forward to his future contributions to racing in the State of Indiana and to our Hoosier Park facility.”
