Million In Sight For Madefromlucky

Madefromlucky, one of the heavy hitters in the ”Stable That God Loves” in 2015, is back in his old stall in God’s Stable and poised to quickly crack the $1 million mark in career purse earnings for owners Mac Nichol and Cheyenne Stables, LLC.

The flashy four-year-old chestnut speedster who last year tackled some of the best three-year-olds the Thoroughbred sport had to offer, including Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, is the lone Thoroughbred in the Stable That God Loves, a major public relations and fundraising program to help support the homeless Standardbred Chaplaincy of Canada that is dedicated to providing for the emotional, physical, spiritual and human needs of the horse racing work force in southwestern Ontario.

Conditioned by noted trainer Todd Pletcher, Madefromlucky in 2015 was a gem of consistency, posting a 9-3-3-0 record and $900,700 in purses, with important victories in the West Virginia Derby and Peter Pan Stakes. With $57,500 earned in three starts in stakes events this year, Madefromlucky has upped his career bank account to $991,700. In his last start on April 9 in the Excelsior Stakes at New York’s Aqueduct Race Course, Madefromlucky carried top weight of 123 pounds and in a ding-dong stretch battle finished second, beaten a scant half-length to Kid Cruz.

Mac Nichol, who has enjoyed tremendous success in the harness racing ranks, is the owner of the Ideal Training Centre, a 50-acre showplace with accommodation for 123 horses and an excellent five-eighths mile training track in Erin, Ont. Mac noted that Madefromlucky has been sound all his life and never been out of training since his two-year-old year. “He likes New York’s Belmont Park racing strip and will be shipped there in a few weeks. He will be eligible for many stakes throughout the year and we’ll pick our spots,” he said.

Stalls are always available in the Stable That God Loves. Each and every trotter, pacer and Thoroughbred is welcome and guaranteed a stall.
