Knight Draws Into WRDC

The draw for the Western Regional Driving Championship this Saturday, April 26 at Fraser Downs is now complete, and also more competitive.

With a solid horse population, Race Secretary Darren Callaghan was able to put together full nine-horse fields for the event, which allows first Also Eligible driver Scott Knight to draw in and compete.

Knight joins B.C.'s Bill Davis, Jim Marino and John Chappell. Those four will be competing against Alberta's Brandon Campbell, Travis Cullen and Gerry Hudon, Saskatchewan's Richard Remillard and Manitoba's Don Howlett.

Post time for Saturday’s card of racing is 12:45 p.m. and there will be a Meet and Greet with the drivers for racing fans, from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Atrium.

The top two finishers, based on points, from the Western Regional will go on to compete in the National Driving Championship on August 26 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at Charlottetown Driving Park.

The I Love Canadian Harness Racing Fan Club’s Pick 9 Handicapping Challenge will open on Thursday.

The Regional Driving Championships and the National Driving Championship will adapt the point system utilized in the World Driving Championship. Points will be awarded on the order of finish as follows:
