It has been reported that officials with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. met last week with officials with Hanover Raceway. "They spent the first half hour explaining to us why they're doing what they're doing," Hanover Raceway GM Gord Dougan has been quoted as saying

.

Dougan's quotes come courtesy of an article on thepost.on.ca, where he said, "They (the OLG officials) did ask us if we were interested in taking part in the process and we said 'yes'…The Hanover, Bentinck and Brant Agriculture Society is interested in either being an operator, a joint operator or a landlord (of a gaming parlour), I just don't know which it's going to be yet. But we do want them to stay."

"We have a positive relationship with OLG and we look forward to building on it in the months and years to come," Hanover Mayor Kathi Maskell has been quoted as saying, via release. "OLG is aware of the town's commitment to the partnership and we look at this as an opportunity for growth in our regional centre."
