Tight Lines Still Perfect In Yonkers Series

Tight Lines continued his perfect four-year-old campaign in the third round of the Yonkers Raceway/SOA of NY Bonus Trotting Series on Tuesday night (April 18) while Windsong Magic doubled up as part of a multiple-win night for driver Jason Bartlett.

Trained and driven by Jeff Gregory, Tight Lines ($2.30) trotted out the to the lead from post six and cruised through fractions of :29.2, :58.2 and 1:27.2 en route to the first and fastest series win of the night in 1:56 flat, matching his season's mark that he took in last week's leg. Gregory also shares ownership of the Yankee Glide gelding, who is now four-for-four on the year and the only three-leg winner of the series, with Jesmeral Stable and William Richardson. Ameliosi, a round two champ, followed two and a quarter lengths behind off a pocket trip.

Opening leg winner Windsong Magic ($3.20) doubled up in the series, holding off the pocket-pulling Phat Stacks by half a length in 1:56.2 for the Buzzy Sholty stable. Jason Bartlett drove the Kadabra mare -- one of his six winners on the night -- for Ontario owner Mac Nichol and his New York partner Gerald Stay. Madhatter Bluechip edged out fellow series winner Pridecrest to show.

Jeff Gregory also drove the Ontario-owned mare Pink Pistol ($5.20) to a 1:58.2 series win for trainer Andrew Federico Jr. and the Knightstalker Stable.

The other $25,000 divisions were won by Thomas Milici's Showmeyourguns (Jordan Stratton, $3.30) in 1:56.2 and the Richard Johnson-trained Steed (Joe Bongiorno, $9.90), who was tracked by two-leg winner Golden Son throughout his 1:57.1 mile.
