Trainer Jamie Copley leads all trainers when it comes to wining races at Rideau Carleton Raceway, and on Sunday evening he added to his track-leading totals with a win in this week’s edition of the $14,000 Preferred Pace

.

Did It Again, one of the many bright lights in Copley’s camp, racked up his fifth win since being scooped out of a claiming event for $25,000 earlier this year. The five-year-old son of Western Hanover was treated to a perfect trip in the garden spot, and when Stephane Gendron called on the gelding to accelerate he had more than enough pace to post the win.

After doling out fractions of :26.4, :56.3 and 1:25.1, pacesetter Aint No Hearsay came under attack from Did It Again who then used a :29.2 final frame to drive off to a two-length tally in 1:54.4. Match Bayama rallied well to finish second while Aint No Hearsay had to settle for the bronze medal in the eight-horse affair.

Jacob Copley of Greely, ON holds the papers on Did It Again, who now boasts $45,925 in seasonal earnings. The 14-time winner has banked $141,997 to date.
