Reports out of Kentucky indicate that a registered quarter horse stallion had to be euthanized yesterday after a car ran off a highway in central Kentucky, plowed into a barn and seriously injured the horse

.

According to a report by lex18.com, a driver, identified as 21-year-old Adam Smith, lost control of his car while driving around a tight turn. The article states that Smith had swerved to miss a car coming at him from the other direction.

As a result, Smith's car went off the road, plowed through a fence, through the door of the barn, and hit the quarter horse, 'Prince,' which was owned by Wince Lee.

"It's hard to describe," Lee was quoted as saying in the lex18.com article. "Once I knew that nobody was hurt as far as the young man, I was concerned about the horse and once I seen the horse, I just told (police) to go ahead and put him down because he was in tremendous pain and I didn't want him laying there."

The article states that Smith suffered minor burns in the incident.
