After finishing second by a neck and a head in her previous two starts, Dismissal finally bested Barbaras Shadow to score a 1:52 victory in a $15,000 conditioned event Tuesday at Dover Downs.

Corey Callahan took control after the opening quarter and was never headed on the way to her fifth victory this year. The four-year-old daughter of Western Terror-Her Mattjesty shook off a backstretch challenge from Barefoot Julie (Tim Tetrick) after the three-quarters then pulled away averting any conflict from Barbaras Shadow (Vic Kirby), who was three lengths back in second turning for home. In The Shadows (Tony Morgan) closed fast to miss second by a neck.

Dismissal began 2017 running off four consecutive convincing wins before her two close losses. It was her 12th career victory upping her lifetime earnings to $94,890 for owner CTC Stable.

Tony Morgan, the second-leading dash win driver in North America, made the winner’s circle four times during Tuesday’s card.
