Lyons River Pride was an easy winner wiring her foes in the $9,000 Fillies & Mares Preferred 3 Handicap Pace featured on Saturday night (March 18) at Flamboro Downs.

Leaving from post six, heavy favourite Lyons River Pride cruised through panels of :27.3, :56.2 and 1:25 without facing any serious challengers en route to the victory in 1:55 flat for driver J Harris. War Filly (Bruce Richardson) finished two and three-quarter lengths behind in second and Sr Beach Babe (Bob McClure) followed in third.

Following a head loss in the same class last weekend, the Bruce Goit trainee was the heavy favourite this time out and paid $2.50 to win.

The victory was her first of the year (out of three starts) and her first over the Flamboro Downs oval. Lifetime, the four-year-old daughter of Somebeachsomewhere has won nine times while banking $189,717 in purses for owner Geoffrey Lyons Mound of Burford, Ont.
