A special blanket presentation was made after the third race Saturday at the Isle Pompano Park to the owner and trainer of the great trotter, Hellva Hush, who due to injury has been retired from racing

A nine-year-old gelding by Lindy Lane from the Ardon mare, Kindva Hush, "http://trackit.standardbredcanada.ca/?op=QRAP&id=387624">Hellava Hush ended his career with earnings of $1,140,000 and an impressive race record of 88 starts, 30 wins, 20 seconds and 13 third place finishes while competing against the best trotters in the nation year after year. He is a former world record holder on both one mile (1:51) and five-eighths mile (1:53.3) tracks and swept the Mack Lobell Trotting Series at the Isle Pompano Park in 2006, setting a track record during the series.
Trained by Bill Gallagher and owned by Joseph Chnapko of Livingston, New Jersey for most of his career, Hellava Hush may be heading for a new home in Kentucky. His connections are trying to get Hellava Hush into the world famous Kentucky Horse Park to spend the rest of his life. Due to his recent injury, Hellava Hush could not be in the winner’s circle Saturday for the presentation.
Sugars Pride ($7.20) was at his best Saturday in winning the third race $16,000 Open Pace for the first time this year. Driven by Wally Hennessey, Sugars Pride led from start to finish, winning by two open lengths over Mahdi (Joe Pavia, Jr.) and Disco Dragon (David Ingraham).
It was the third win this year for Sugars Pride, a five-year-old gelding by Allamerican Ingot, trained by Gerald Greet and owned by the Pilgrim Stable of Pompano Beach, Florida.
