MacLean Leaving HRNB

After taking the position in June 2011, Horse Racing New Brunswick has announced that Exhibition Park General Manager Dave MacLean is leaving the organization

for a position with the New Brunswick government.

"The opportunity at the provincial justice department was one I simply couldn't walk away from," MacLean told Trot Insider. "Frankly, it was much more difficult to leave than most would think. I truly enjoyed my time with HRNB and I expect to continue to work with the organization in some capacity in the months and years ahead."

MacLean has a deep history with harness racing in the region, being involved with Champlain Raceway in Moncton in the early 1990's.

"HRNB has lost an asset with Dave leaving, however he has a passion for our game and has offered to continue to assist in anyway possible," stated Jeff Malloy, HRNB Executive Director. "Dave worked hard for HRNB the short time he was here, and we wish him all the best in his new position."

Exhibition Park was once the cornerstone of Maritime harness racing, something HRNB is hoping to rebuild.

"Exhibition Park must be successful in order for HRNB to be successful longterm." said Malloy. "We are confident a qualified individual will emerge to continue Dave's progress."

Information and details on the GM position can be found on the HRNB website.
