Driver Travis Henry swept Sunday evening's $7,500 Preferred 3 co-features at Flamboro Downs with first-time 2017 winners Thorn In Your Side and Honor Roll.

Thorn In Your Side was an easy winner in the Preferred 3 for male pacers, clearing to command during the :28.2 first quarter and cruising through middle splits of :58.1 and 1:26.4 en route to his 25th career victory in 1:56. The 4-5 favourite paid $3.60 to win. Redonkulous (Travis Cullen), the 9-5 second choice, closed inside of pocket-sitter Jackson K Down (Bob McClure) to snag the runner-up role.

Carmen Auciello trains Thorn In Your Side, a seven-year-old Mach Three gelding owned by High Stakes Stable Inc. of Farmington Hills, Michigan.

In the fillies and mares division, Henry had Honor Roll out and rolling from fourth to challenge the front-striding Nips Beach Girl (Paul MacKenzie) past the :59.2 half-mile mark and then took over the lead down the backstretch. Honor Roll raced past three-quarters in 1:28.1 before drawing off by three lengths to earn her 27th career win in 1:57.4, with Choose My Jet (J Harris) chasing into second and 8-5 favourite Acefourtyfour Alex (Bob McClure) finishing third.

Honor Roll, who is also sired by Mach Three, is trained by Patrick Shepherd and owned by Mike McAllister of Beaumont, Alta. The eight-year-old mare paid $7.90 to win as the 3-1 third wagering choice.

Both Thorn In Your Side and Honor Roll were dropping in class to earn their first wins of the year from six starts.
