Gingras Wins Seven; Close Calls In Exit16

Yannick Gingras is in the zone. He found his way to the winner's circle seven times on the 13-race Saturday program at Meadowlands Racetrack, four of which found him teamed up with trainer Ron Burke.

In fact, over the last six nights of racing, Gingras has won 18 races. This streak is similar to one that we saw from Gingras last year when he opened up a massive lead in the driver standings. It appears he is on his way to doing that again.

The Exit 16W Series continued tonight and produced one enormous upset and a pair of thrilling finishes.

In the first $18,000 division, Hang Ten and driver John Campbell lit up the toteboard at 32-1, paving the way for a carryover of the early Pick 4. That carryover led to a total pool of the late Pick 4 of over $167,000. Hang Ten prevailed by a nose in a four-across finish in 1:51 for trainer Ed Lohmeyer.

The second division saw another wild finish with four more noses on the wire. In the end it was favourite Holdingallthecards who once again scored a narrow victory, clocked in 1:52, running his record to six-for-six on the year. Tim Tetrick was in the sulky for trainer Scott DiDomenico.

It was yet another great night for the Meadowlands handle. The total handle of $3,565,691 was the third time it has gone past the $3.5 million mark this year. In 2012, the only race card that accomplished that feat was Hambletonian Day.
