Canada's Early 2013 Leaders

Just one month into 2013, the races for Canada's driving and training titles are already heating up.

As of January 31, driver Jody Jamieson has taken the early lead in both the wins and earnings categories. He has banked $424,280 in purses during the first month of the year, and with 40 wins, he holds a one point lead over Billy Davis Jr. in the win column. Ed Hensley boasts the highest win percentage in January with an 11-7-5 record in 36 starts for a UDRS of 0.459.

Trainer Rene Allard leads the nation for victories having sent out 29 winners already in 2013. Last year's leader Richard Moreau, who has 24 wins so far on his seasonal record, ranks No. 1 in the money category with his stable starters earning $249,187 in purses. David McKellar tops the charts with a training percentage of 0.545 as he sent out 22 starters in January to earn seven wins, six seconds and five thirds.
