Saratoga Gives Back Once Again

Saratoga Casino and Raceway has announced that it will hold its 10th annual Make a Difference celebration next week and it will present 16 local charitable organizations with donations totalling $100,000.

Saratoga Casino and Raceway launched Make A Difference 10 years ago as a way to provide impactful funding to local organizations. This year’s 10th annual event brings the total amount provided to $1 million since the program’s inception in 2004.

“This event is one of our biggest highlights of the year,” said Mike Vild, general manager of Saratoga Casino and Raceway. “We are very proud to celebrate a decade of ‘Make a Difference.’ It’s our privilege to lend a helping hand to these organizations so they can continue to improve the lives of our employees, families and friends in this community.”

“Saratoga Casino and Raceway’s Make A Difference celebration is one of our favourite events of the year,” said Angelo Calbone, president of Saratoga Hospital. “We’re very thankful to have been a recipient for each of the past 10 years and applaud Saratoga Casino and Raceway for going above and beyond to support and celebrate the tremendous work done by these important local charities.”

The 2014 Make a Difference celebration will be held in Vapor on Tuesday (December 9) at 5:30 p.m. Liz Bishop will serve as the evening’s emcee. Around 150 guests and representatives from the community are expected to attend.

• Empire State Youth Orchestra at Proctors

Since opening on January 28, 2004, Saratoga Casino and Raceway has contributed more than $2.3 million to Capital District charities.
