Stucklikeglue Defeats Dayton Open Mares

Stucklikeglue, one of just two fillies in a full field of Fillies & Mares Open pacers at Dayton Raceway on Friday night, used a strong stretch drive to prevail over her older counterparts in 1:52.4.

A recent purchase out of the Ron Burke consignment at the Harrisburg sale by Parent Racing Stable, Stucklikeglue has now won twice in addition to a place and show finish in five starts since moving to the Doug Hinklin Stable in Ohio.

The sophomore daughter of Dragon Again got a second-over trip from driver Greg Grismore through fractions of :27.1, :55.4 and 1:24.1, then swung three-wide at the head of the stretch and zoomed past Sectionline Yankee (Dan Noble), who was last week’s winner in the weekly $10,000 featured event, and pacesetter Holiday Shopper (Kayne Kauffman), who garnered the show dough. It was the seventh seasonal triumph for Stucklikeglue, who has now earned $87,793 in 2014 and $145,445 in her first two seasons.

There are just three nights of live action remaining in the inaugural Hollywood Dayton Raceway season. Racing resumes Saturday night (December 20) and returns for a closing weekend on Friday (December 26) and Saturday (December 27). Post time is 6:35 p.m. nightly.
