Latest Desire followed live cover into the final turn, then brushed wide through the lane to capture Saturday’s $15,500 Winners Over $10,000 Life Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Latest Desire was fourth down the backside when Dan Rawlings tipped him off the pylons to follow the first-over Shooters Dream. The six-year-old Real Desire-Latest Design gelding kicked into high gear when he shed his cover and scored in 1:52.2, holding off the rallying Kingofthejungle by half a length. Early leader Dapper Dude saved show.

Dirk Simpson trains Latest Desire, who extended his career bankroll to $353,936, for Steven Newcom and Larry Taylor.

Tony Hall collected five wins on the 13-race card while Aaron Merriman and Rawlings each enjoyed a triple.
