Big Night For Wallis In Windsor

Kevin Wallis put on a show at Windsor Raceway on Tuesday evening thanks to his five trips to the winner’s circle – including three winners from his own barn

- during the 12-race card.

Wallis got the ball rolling in the opener with Windsong Gentille. The mare, who hangs her harness bag in his barn, turned a ground-saving trip into a 1:56 triumph to kick start the card. The mare’s stablemate, Pembroke Big Bo, wired up the trotting foes he faced in the fourth race in a time of 1:58.2.

CC Dancer proved to be a live catch drive for Wallis in Race 6. The Steve Bossence-trained mare drew clear to win by a pair of lengths in 1:58.3 after doing all of the road work in the $6,500 tilt. Herecomesthechief gave Wallis his third training victory and his fourth driving win on the program thanks to his wire-to-wire tally in Race 10 in a time of 1:57.2.

The finishing touches on the big night at the office were completed in Race 11 when Wallis catch-drove Another Happy Day to a nose decision in 1:56.3 for trainer Kristy Casagranda.

The career winner in excess of 9,000 races went over $43-million in lifetime earnings earlier this season. Wallis’ numbers in the training department are impressive, too. He’s sent out 972 winners to date, and purses earnings by his pupils are quickly closing in on the $5 million mark.
