Post positions were drawn this morning for Saturday's $75,000 Northlands Filly Pace and the $100,000 Western Canada Pacing Derby - western Canada's richest harness race on the 2011 calendar

The Filly Pace, for three-year-old fillies, is looking like one of the most wide open stake events ever held in Alberta. Last week's elimination one winner, Red Star Hannah, has drawn the coveted rail position and is listed as the 2-1 morning line favourite. Just Fiction, winner of the second elimination, has drawn Post 6 and is listed at 3-1, while the highly touted Ontario import, Village Janus, will score from the outside post at 4-1.
The Western Canada Pacing Derby, for three-year-old colts and geldings, features an all-star lineup with the Gerry Hudon-trained Bachelor Pad established as the early 2-1 favourite leaving from Post 6. Silver Eagle gets some post relief and will leave from the four-hole as the 3-1 second choice while Hollywood Warrior, at 4-1, leaves from Post 2.
