It has been announced that Brian Sears, who recorded his 9,000th career driving victory in late October, will be taking his driving prowess across the Atlantic Ocean.

Sears, who has driven his mounts to more than $161 million in purse earnings, will be representing the United States in the ‘Trotteur Francais International Meeting 2014’ this Saturday (November 29) at Hippodrome De Vincennes in Paris, France.

Joe Faraldo, president of the Standardbred Owners Association of New York, recently honoured Sears on his 9,000th win. Faraldo took the opportunity to sing Sears’ praises.

"At 46, there is no limit to Brian's career potential,” Faraldo said. “He simply, and quietly, wins year in and year out. Call him ‘The White Knight’; call him ‘The King’; call him whatever, but don't forget to call him a winner.”

The SOA of New York also stated that a special set of American colours are being readied for Sears as he competes with drivers from those other countries that have signed on to simulcasting and breeding agreements with the French.
