Hunch players beefed up their bank accounts Monday evening at Woodbine Racetrack thanks to a first-timer that rallied for a 6-1 upset in his first lifetime start.

On a night where horses were forced to deal with howling winds gusting at times in the 70-80 km/hr range, a two-year-old Sportswriter colt out of the mare Wind Warning came through for his backers.

The Ben Wallace pupil got away fifth in the conditioned tilt for rookies, and despite making a break in the backstretch the colt regained his composure and used a :29-second closing quarter to rally for the win in going away fashion. He stopped the clock in 1:59.1 for driver Mario Baillargeon.
