With Pocohontas Fame still eligible for the $100,000 bonus offered by the Florida Standardbred Breeders And Owners Association, two eliminations have been set for Wednesday evening at Pompano Park for the Breeders Stakes

.

It's the last of the four major Fall stakes staged by the FSBOA. The eliminations became necessary due to the volume of entries numbering eleven for the Breeders Stakes two year old filly trot division. All championship finals will be staged on the 2009 Florida Super Night program of December 5.

The eliminations for the rookie filly trotters will be staged at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the regular ten race card at 7:05 p.m.

Pocohontas Fame and pacing filly Black Diamond Girl are last two rookie performers still eligible for the FSBOA bonus offered to any rookie performer able to sweep the four major State bred stakes each Fall. The daughter of Famously-Native Pine campaigning for Amante Standardbreds of Delray Beach has drawn into by far the toughest of the eliminations against recent winners Your Not My Friend and Pretty Girl.

All Power Peaking At The Right Time

The Monday evening program featured another hint of what's to come on the December 5 Super Night as three year old colt trotter All Power picked a great time to take time to end his maiden status and take a mark of 2:00.

"That trip Bruce Ranger gave him couldn't have been any more perfect" said owner Tom Locascio. "He'd been competing in the Florida Stakes all this Fall and recently we made a deal with his breeder, trainer and driver Tom Wantz to buy him. We hope it's a sign he'll keep coming into his own in the Breeders' Stakes on December 5.”

The son of Wewering-Michada now campaigns for Locascio's ABC Farms of Pelham Manor, New York. It was his fourth start from the care of trainer Jim Langley.

Two trainers that just arrived in South Florida won with their first starters of the meet on the Monday evening card. Jarrod Duncan shipped in from Indiana Downs and saw Bullard step to a mark of 1:53.4 as part of a driving triple for Ricky Macomber, Jr. on the program. Bullard, a three year old gelding by Allamerican Theory-Macs Dutchess campaigns for La Bella Vita Stables of Morris, Illinois.

The other conditioner to win in his debut this meet at Pompano Park on Monday night was Sergio Corona. The resident of Delray Beach shipped in from Colonial Downs and relinquished driving duty on his three year old filly trotter Eggies Joy to Richard Simard and she front stepped her way to a life's mark of 1:58.4. It was the third win in twelve trips this year for the filly by Trot For Joy-Eggie Again and she provided the night's biggest upset with $85.40 kicked back to win.
