Second-leg action turned ‘Political’ in the colt and gelding trots Tuesday at Dover Downs when Political Foe and Political Cash swept to victory in $20,000 DSOA freshman divisions.

Eddie Dennis took the early lead driving Political Foe and never looked back lengthening the lead at each post on the way to a 1:59 victory in the first $20,000 DSBF male trot. Canadian partners Stephanie and Brian Cassell own the Political Briefing-Paris Filly gelding. He won for the fourth time, with three seconds, in eight races this season. Lucky Dynasty (Vic Kirby) was a distant second with Let It Go (Corey Callahan) third.

Another altered son of Political Briefing, this one from Cashmere Sabra, was an easy 2:00.1 victor in the second $20,000 trot. Trained by Bob Shahan who co-owns the two-year-old with Donald Marine, Political Cash recorded his third win of the campaign and sixth time in the money in seven races. Perfect Vangogh (Tony Morgan) finished second while Egosnattitudes (Jonathan Roberts) was third best.

The top eight point-getters after the two prelim legs race in the $100,000 DSBF Finals beginning next week. The filly trot final is set for next Monday with the colt and geldings final on Tuesday.
