While many owners wait years for a stakes-winning racehorse, perhaps a lesson can be learned from an 11-year-old girl and her faith in a less-than fashionably-bred horse that became a champion.

The story of MJB Got Faith is borderline fairytale. It revolved around Breana Carsey of Carsonville, Ind., and her lifelong dream of owning a horse...and not just any horse, a broodmare that would produce a foal that would go on to be a champion.

At Breana's choosing, her father -- former horseman Brian Carsey -- purchased Imageofasweetgirl at the 2012 Fall Speed Sale in Ohio for $1,000. In foal to Trainforthefuture, Imageofasweetgirl foaled a colt in 2013.

Despite the bargain basement sales price and a pedigree lacking rich black type, Breana's faith in her foal never wavered. Two years later, she owns an undefeated Ohio Sires Stakes champion. The story of MJB Got Faith and Breana Carsey was recently featured by CBS News (click this link if the video below does not load).

MJB Got Faith is also profiled as the 'Horse Handles' feature in the November issue of Trot Magazine.
