Simon Said Slides To Preferred Win

Simon Said rode a pocket trip to claim victory in the $2,400 Preferred Pace on Saturday, November 11 at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The Joey Squires-trained pacer, returning $28.80 to win, overpowered pacesetter Adkins Hanover in deep stretch to win in 1:56.1 with Mark Bradley in the bike. Race favourite Adkins Hanover was second with The Big Bite finishing third. Simon Said is co-owned by Squires with partners Jack MacGillivray of Charlottetown and Albert MacGillivray of Middle Sackville, N.S.

Prettyndangerous prevailed in the $2,250 Open Mares Pace for driver Adam Merner and trainer Bo Ford, who co-owns with Arnold Myers of Charlottetown. The daughter of Armbro Deuce defeated Good Luck Kathy with Hurricane Hill third.

MacPherson piloted Holy Molie Maggie to win the $1,850 Open Trot in 2:01.4. The Jeff Holmes trainee powered past race favourite Freddie with Wedgewood third.
