'Nate' Doubles Up In Flamboro Preferred

For the second straight start, Summit City Nate managed to take home bragging rights in the $7,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Flamboro Downs.

With Alfie Carroll in the sulky behind the favourite, Summit City Nate got away in mid-pack while Costantino shot to the lead and hustled the field through fractions of :28.2 and :58.4. Summit City Nate, who came first-over on the way to the half in the Thursday evening affair, showed the lead while racing parked at the three-quarter pole in 1:28.2. A :30-second kicker earned the gelding the two-length decision over Spartan Victory in 1:58.2. Waikiki Hanover held on for third.

Victory Puddy, who enjoyed four wins on Thursday (two at Flamboro and a pair at Mohawk Racetrack, trains the four-year-old son of Justice Hall-Even Dozen for Keith Cassell, Dr. John Tobin and Limco Inc. The 13-time winner has banked just shy of $130,000.
