‘Dream Ticket’ Was A Big Ticket

P C Dream Ticket didn’t get much pari-mutuel support from the betting public on Tuesday’s opening night card at The Raceway at Western Fair District, but that didn’t stop him from lighting up the toteboard to the tune of 28-1 in the $8,300 Preferred 3 for trotters for Team Clements.

With Curtis Clements at the helm, P C Dream Ticket slid into an early five-hole before tipping and catching second-over cover. The trotter rode that cover through middle panels of :58.3 and 1:28.3 before using a :31.3 closing quarter to haul down the leaders and post a nose decision in 2:00.4. Kadabrasnewrecruit was second best, with Rainbow Gold finishing third.

Trainer Peter Clements of Dobbinton, ON bred and owns the five-year-old son of Cornaro Dasolo-P C Dreams who won for the second time this season and for the fourth time in his career. The gelding has banked closed to $15,000 this season and more than $56,000 to date.
