They're Off At Dover Downs!

October 30 is traditionally 'Mischief Night,' and longshots abounded at Dover Downs on opening night of the 2017-18 season.

Trust Fund Baby, off at 7-1, took the $14,000 feature trot while Vic Kirby had a driving triple.

A 46-1 shot, Uptown Spunk, reined by Roger Plante, started off the meet scoring a nose victory beating My Big Kadillac (Vince Copeland) to win the first race paying $96.60 to win.

Girlofyourdreams and trainer-driver Bart Dalious flew down the lane from far back at 23-1 to score a 1:57.3 victory in a Filly and mare pace for The Wiz Kids Stable to set up a $903.60 Trifecta.

Jason Green closed with a rush at 10-1 driving owner-trainer Mark Groce’s Terror On My Side to score a 1:56.4 triumph, the race after Green had steered Awake My Soul, at 7-1, to victory for Alex Hawes and owner-trainer Charlene Sharpe.

Bill Sartin’s Hey Dali got up a 7-1 for driver Ross Wolfenden and trainer Joe Hundertpfund.

In the $14,000 feature trot, art Stafford, Jr. guided Trust Fund Baby to victory in 1:59.3 over the deep track. Greg Haverstick conditions the five-year-old altered son of Cantab Hall-Annuity to the win. Iron Mine Branch was followed by The Muscle Touch (Tony Morgan) and Moonshine Lavec (Corey Callahan), second and third respectively.

Petrossian AS, owned by Arty Foster and driven by his grandson Russell Foster won the $11,500 secondary feature trot in 1:58.4. Angel City (Kirby) was runner-up with Photo Message (Art Stafford Jr.) third.

In addition to Vic Kirby three wins, Art Stafford, Jason Green and trainer Ben Stafford had two winners each.
