On Wednesday, January 8 at Monticello Raceway, 53-1 longshot And We Danced got up for a 2:01.2 triumph for driver Jason Ryan, which led to a $108.50 return on a two-dollar Win wager.

Ryan’s victory with And We Danced resulted after an overland trip that began at the half-mile marker.

Ryan moved the five-year-old I Am A Fool gelding into second-over position behind Off Lika Promdress (driven by Austin Siegelman) as the timer flashed in :58.4.

Luck was in Ryan’s corner, as Off Lika Prombress carried him all the way to the top of the lane. And We Danced paced by his cover in the stretch and held off the late-charging Allamerican Master (Greg Merton) for the victory.

Owned by Richard Policastro and trained by Anthony Regina, And We Danced returned $108.50, $27.00 and $9.20 across the board. The exacta (with the 2-1 second choice, Allamerican Master) paid $541.00.

The overall handle for Monticello’s Wednesday card was $700,111.
