Reports from overseas indicate that 2015 Breeders Crown winner The Bank will be standing stud in Sweden for the 2016 season.

The Bank was trained by Jimmy Takter for Christina Takter and Goran Falk of New Jersey and Goran Anderberg of Sweden. With one of the best pedigrees in harness racing, The Bank is a son of Donato Hanover from the Viking Kronos mare Lantern Kronos. Not only did she sweep divisional honours as a three-year-old in North America, she is a full sister to top trotter Going Kronos -- a horse so admired that songs were written about him.

As a three-year-old, The Bank was victorious against the best in his class in the Breeders Crown, the American National, the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Final and the Dancer Memorial. It was in the Dancer that The Bank took his mark of 1:50.4, making him the fastest three-year-old colt trotter of 2015.

The Bank also finished in the top three in a division of the Bluegrass, the Colonial and the Goodtimes. His seasonal summary of 18-5-8-0 and $1,098,984 in purse earnings garnered him a nod as a 2015 O'Brien Award finalist along with stablemate Pinkman.

Falk told Travronden that a location to stand The Bank has yet to be finalized but he expects a stud fee in the range of 50,000 Swedish Krona (or $8,100CAD). The horse will arrive in Sweden next week.
